2018 Construction Forecast

As each year progresses, the construction activity ebbs and flows. Traditionally, the summer months are the most active for construction work. However, there are opportunities for projects throughout the service area to be under construction at any time, as needed. Each project will vary in its complexity, size, scale and potential for traffic impacts. To keep you informed of the District related construction activities that you may see in the coming months, please review the following information. NE 78th Street Trunk

The existing 8-inch main is currently flowing near capacity and requires increased levels of preventative maintenance. The project replaces 1,550 feet of 12-inch gravity trunk and 997 feet of 8-inch gravity main from NE 13th Avenue to Heritage Farm. Project Update June 12, 2018

NE 10th Avenue Pump Station

This project constructs a new duplex submersible pump station adjacent to NE 10th Avenue and north of Whipple Creek. Construct 2,100 feet of new gravity trunk that connects to infrastructure installed as part of the County NE 10th Avenue Bridge project and runs to a discharge point at an existing manhole on the east side of I-5. Union Road Pump Station Upgrade

Upgrade the District’s existing pump station to provide additional capacity. Replace the existing pumps and piping with larger infrastructure (2019) and connect to a new 15-inch force main (2018). For more information about this project, please read the project profile.

Gravity Restoration and Replacement (R&R) Programs

Through routine maintenance and assessment of the gravity sewers, isolated pieces of the collection system are identified for R&R. Several programs are in place to construct the needed repairs. These programs include spot repairs, access manholes and I/I removal. Projects will take place at various times during 2018.

NE 10th Avenue Bridge County Road Project

Clark County is building a bridge on NE 10th Avenue over Whipple Creek between NE 154th Street and NE 164th Street. The District has partnered with the County to install a pump station and gravity and pressure lines to provide sewer service to this area.

NE 119th Street County Road Project (NE 50th Ave to NE 72nd Ave)

Clark County is improving NE 119th Street between NE 50th Ave and NE 72nd Ave. The District has partnered with the County to install gravity and pressure lines to provide sewer service to this rapidly developing area.

35th Avenue Roundabout

The City of Ridgefield is building a new roundabout at the intersection of Pioneer Street and 35th Avenue. The District has partnered with the City to install several hundred feet of pressure line across Pioneer Street to provide future service.

Pleasant Valley North Pump Station

This project extends service to the NE 50th Avenue corridor north of Salmon Creek Avenue in association with development at the WSU Vancouver campus and a new Vancouver Public Schools STEM School.
